GIVING
It’s almost impossible for one to scroll through timeline on Facebook, Twitter or other social media platforms without seeing posts like #savetope #donate #orphansinneed. That’s not enough to speak for the beggars on the street pitifully seeking one’s help. Have you looked into your family? That great uncle who earns meagre that can’t cater for his children. The last we heard was the daughters making ends meet via the influences of the biggest Yahoo boys in town. What a shame!
More often, the default response to the strong persuasive messages of fund sourcing is scrolling/strolling past, especially to the ones on the scrren, why? Because, you want quite a number of things you’re saving up to get. Your budget for the month is scheduled and you can’t digress from it. You donated for a course already and just can’t afford more. You’re financially incapable and so can’t break a bank or you ask _“why cant everyone strive, must they beg?” if these or more are the reasons why the kind heart is shut to humanity, here are some reasons why you give it another chance.
It’s no more a news that human wants are unlimited, insatiable. This means, you continue to crave for things beyond your reach till you get them and have more at sight. If this cycle goes on, when would one be satisfied?. Because life is friend to no one, it thus promises nothing, so have what you can, take what you need and dispense a lot of the rest alongside saving for the stormy days.
I just must commend your hard work, you strive, it’s strenuous, yet you did it, to earn it but when you get it, quite a lot of expenditures are lined up prying at you. A good shot to this is by planning, having a certain ratio to yourself, your family, your parents inclusive, to charity, miscellaneous, amongst others. Frankly, discard the thought “I deserve to be given sef” or you earning little. The same way you want more and plan with your less is how the rich crave for more and especially, plan for their assumed much but of course, in higher figures or perhaps ratio..
True satiation, confidence, satisfaction comes when you give! I know what strikes your mind is “money”, of course, Money is the wand of most successes, it’s presence rotors other accessories but giving isn’t limited to it. May you be blessed for intending to and setting out money to be spent in the course of charity, don’t overruled it for it has fabulous benefits.
Once you give, you stand a chance of getting another good turn. Is there a reward to good deed other than good? Spending on other than yourself, like your parents, children, family strengthens love and the bond of kinship. Giving to the neighbors promotes cordiality, respect and love. Reaching out to strangers spreads love far and wide among mankind.
Giving is sowing, it sprouts as the recipients reforms and will be reaped, the recipients are less likely to forget, so they spread the good act. You reap here on earth and the life to come. Giving brings solace, you’re joyful_ someone is relieved, because of you, a life is saved. Because of you, humanity is preserved.
Because you give, you’re at peace with yourself. Because you give, vices are reduced to the bearest minimum in the society or even eradicated. Because you give, you’re not afraid of insecurity, you’re hopeful that your friends, families and progenies will be recipients of kind gestures even after your demise. Giving expiate sins, it purifies your wealth.
Guess What’s as important as spending money? your “time”. It’s one of the most valuable things to give. you dedicate your time to other’s prosperity, check on that your great uncle, share his plights, advice his children. Share some cookies with that gentle lady, Give kind words to that your sulking neighbor, who knows_she might be overburdened. Smile to that storm-looking boss, he might be depressed but feigning bravado . Smile is charity, it’s a beautiful thing to give. Wear it, it makes you ever young, less wrinkled. Support NGOs like K.O.A Education Foundation, donate to their projects, rebroadcast their messages and recommend them to people for help, with these you are giving. Would you be reluctant or cringe to give again?
Give all you can, with humility and good intentions. “Giving is generosity, it’s spurs the chain of prosperity. You don’t keep the baton in a relay race, you pass it on”.
