This year, we celebrate the 28th anniversary of the world teachers’ day across the globe,
themed, “Teachers at the heart of education recovery”.
The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) established the
celebration in 1994, and they chose 5th October as it marks the anniversary of the signing of
important guidance and criteria covering teachers’ rights, conditions and more, back in 1966.
According to UNESCO, “World Teachers’ Day is a day to celebrate how teachers are
transforming education but also to reflect on the support they need to fully deploy their talent
and vocation, and to rethink the way ahead for the profession globally.
As a teacher, you give your whole life to the students, and are responsible for their upbringing in
school. You make sure they are being taught the right way of life, and that is why we put aside a
day each year, to celebrate you.
You are a superhero!
You are a trailblazer!
You are a superhuman!
You are loved!
Teachers are an essential part of our society. They are called the builders of the nation.
Whatever or whoever we are today, is due to the unselfish efforts and countless contributions of
our teachers. A teacher is one who leads our way behind closed doors. They bring us from
darkness and take us towards the light. Let us respect, honour and celebrate our teachers
today!
Happy Teachers’ Day
