International day of education

International Day of Education – 2023

Malcom X once said that “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”. Education is something that can never be useless, and can never be worthless. Whether you are a professional or a novice, you need more knowledge. You don’t necessarily have to go to a school, as knowledge is acquired in different ways.

This year, we celebrate another international day of education, with the theme, “To invest in people, prioritize Education“. If you love someone and want to invest in them, educate them. Giving someone more knowledge on
something they know nothing about is the best gift you can give them.

How do you educate? You can educate someone in different ways:

  1. In a school: A school is an institution of knowledge. According to Wikipedia, “A school is an educational institution designed to provide learning spaces and learning environments for the teaching of students under the direction of teachers”. Taking a child to school is a way of expressing love, showing that you care for them and you want the best for them. In school, you learn anything and everything you need to know about life.
  2. Through the Media: You can educate people through the media. This cuts across social media as we have the mass media, and digital media. Thankfully, we have online courses one can take from the comfort of their home. Aside from this, information about the world and life is spread online for people to learn and understand, also you can subscribe to educational YouTube channels like the KOA Education Foundation YouTube Channel – to subscribe click on this “KOA Education Foundation YouTube Channel
  3. Through correction: When you correct someone for doing something wrong, you are educating them about something they’re doing that’s wrong.
  4. Word of mouth: Information is spread by word of mouth. If you hear something, talking about it is the best way to spread knowledge.
As we celebrate the international day of education, let’s understand the value of education and why it’s important. Let’s applaud our teachers for giving their all into educating the children, our leaders for passing knowledge to us, our parents for being the pioneers of education and spreading knowledge, and you, for helping those around you.

Happy International Day of Education!
